The Celtics finished a six-game homestand with a 5-1 record with their fifth straight win, 110-86, over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. They hit the road for one game in the nation’s capital, return home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday and then hit the road for their first West Coast trip of the season beginning Thursday in Portland.
The Wizards also played Friday night, a 110-91 loss to Phoenix, and play the second game of a rare home back-to-back. Washington is 5-10 since acquiring Rashard Lewis from Orlando for Gilbert Arenas and have yet to win on the road (0-20) this season.
For the Celtics, Shaquille O’Neal was not expected to make the trip with a sore hip.
