Playoff preview? Right now, the Celtics are in first place by a game-and-a-half over the Bulls. The Sixers are in seventh place, a game behind New York for sixth place and six games ahead of Indiana, in the eighth spot. Even though their schedule down the stretch is tough, the Sixers haven’t given much thought to facing the Celtics in the first round. “My feeling right now is, I just want enough wins to get in,” said Doug Collins. “I want our guys to get into the playoffs. Who we play, it doesn’t matter to me because we’re going to play a great team and we’re going to learn from it no matter who we play.” But Doc Rivers is building his playoff files now.”You’re creating files that you would never create,” Rivers said. “We played Golden State and I didn’t create another file after that, because we won’t see them again. With Philly, Milwaukee, you could see again, so you have to prepare for them.”

Shoring up the defense: The Celtics have given up 100 points in four of their past five games. The past two, Rajon Rondo’s had his issues with a pair of brutal matchups against Brandon Jennings, who scored 23 points Sunday and Mo Williams, who dropped 28 Wednesday. “We’ve been bad,” Rivers said. “We just haven’t done our jobs. Each guy, we’ve been bad defensively. Point blank. No excuses, has nothing to do with the new guys. We haven’t changed our schemes, we’re just not doing it, and that’s the guys that have been here and the new guys. We just haven’t done it, we haven’t done it well.”
