Celtics’ Krstic will have MRI on knee Saturday

SAN ANTONIO — Celtics center Nenad Krstic left Boston’s game with the San Antonio Spurs with an apparent leg injury with 2:19 left in the half. His leg appeared to bend back and he was replaced by Glen Davis in the lineup, leaving the court writhing in pain. He did not return and will have an MRI Saturday in Boston.

Davis started for the Celtics in the second half and played center.

The Celtics would be devastated if Krstic missed any extensive time because their big men have been injured most of the season.

Jermaine O’Neal made his first appearance since Jan. 10 after left knee surgery while Shaquille O’Neal has missed nearly two months with an Achilles tendon injury.

O’Neal would return Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.
