Game 3: Heat at Celtics

Tip-off: 8 p.m.
Series: Miami leads, 2-0
Broadcast info: ABC, WEEI
Probable starters:

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Jermaine O’Neal

PG: Mike Bibby
SG: Dwyane Wade
SF: LeBron James
PF: Chris Bosh
C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Play with force: The Celtics need to make it more difficult for LeBron James (above) and Dwyane Wade, even if James and Wade continue to get theirs. They can score. That’s OK. But they need to work for it, and they need to be forced to make tough decisions on whether to give up the ball or keep it.

Baby steps: Any of Boston’s remaining games would be a good time for Glen Davis to break out. He had six points on 2-of-7 shooting in Game 2, and his shot selection was questioned down the stretch. No matter how many questions he’s faced, Davis is the Celtics’ best player off the bench, and he needs to play like it. He’s capable of it.

Dire situation: To a man, the Celtics have described tonight’s game as must-win, do-or-die, and the like. That’s pretty much right on. The series isn’t over. A win tonight puts an entirely different spin on things and gets the reactionary voice of public opinion questioning the Heat for a few minutes and not the Celtics.
