Welcome to Pepsi Center for Celtics-Nuggets

DENVER — It’s the first day of the second half and the Celtics begin a rugged five-game road trip that takes them to Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, Phoenix and Utah. All the games are winnable but all the opponents play considerably better at home. The Nuggets will be looking for blood after the Celtics’ triple-overtime victory on Feb. 11. The Celtics have added Terrence Williams but won’t play tonight because he has not received clearance from his Chinese team.

Pregame notes:

• The Celtics are waiting for a letter of clearance from the Guangdong Southern Tigers so Williams can play and won’t even announce the signing until that happens.

• Practice on Monday at the University of Denver was bizarre with Chris Wilcox having to play small forward at times. But Doc Rivers said what’s left of his roster is healthy.

• The Nuggets are on a three-game losing streak after dropping games to the Celtics, Raptors and Nets to end the first half. Denver plays 17 of its final 28 games at Pepsi Center, where it is 22-3.

• Kevin Garnett will pass former Net and Blazer Buck Williams for 11th all-time in games play with 1,308. Garnett should pass Moses Malone (1,329) for 10th later this season.

• The Celtics are fourth in the league in points allowed per game since Jan. 1 with 92.6. They were 17th through the season’s first two months.
