Celtics sign Randolph for remainder of season

DALLAS — As Doc Rivers said Wednesday, the Celtics wanted roster continuity and signed center Shavlik Randolph for the remainder of the season after his 10-day contract expired Thursday. Randolph has been a solid addition to the Celtics bench, playing well in limited time.

In three games, he is averaging 3.3 points and 4.3 rebounds, including 6 points and eight rebounds on March 16 against the Charlotte Bobcats. Randolph has played with four teams after leaving Duke following his junior season in 2005.
