TORONTO — The Celtics will play their 81st and final regular-season game of 2012-13 at Air Canada Centre here Wednesday night, facing off against the Toronto Raptors. It will be Boston’s first game since the tragic bombings Monday at the Boston Marathon that led the NBA to cancel the Celtics’ Tuesday game at TD Garden against the Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics are expected to wear commemorative patches in reverence to those who lost their lives or were injured in the bombings. After the game, the Celtics will stay the night and leave Thursday afternoon for New York, where they face their first-round playoff opponent, the Knicks, in Game 1 likely on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
It’s unclear if Doc Rivers will play Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in the final game together, but there is a chance because the team isn’t playing on the second night of a back-to-back, as it would have been had it played the Indiana game on Tuesday.
