Welcome to Bankers Life Fieldhouse for Celtics-Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS — Celtics coach Brad Stevens makes his return his roots as Butler University coach for the first time since taking the Boston job. He was welcomed back by a local media horde and lots of questions about Butler, his admiration for the Pacers and the adjustment to the NBA. Meanwhile, the Celtics are trying to snap a two-game losing streak after a difficult loss Saturday against Washington. The Pacers snapped a two-game skid by wiping out Houston on Friday and are a sparkling 12-1 at home.

Pregame notes:

• Stevens said he had a talk with Courtney Lee, who is not happy with his playing time. Stevens said Lee expressed his disappointment and Stevens said Lee will be an integral part of the team.

• Danny Granger is back for the Pacers and is expected to play tonight. Granger missed most of last season with knee issues and then the first five weeks with a strained calf. Indiana coach Frank Vogel said Granger will play in back-to-back sets.

• The Celtics will take the next three days off before returning to practice Thursday. They get six days off before facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 28.
