Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will get one more shot at the Miami Heat in the postseason, thanks to some late-game heroics from Boston’s former captain.
In the closing seconds of the Game 7 matchup between Brooklyn and Toronto, Pierce blocked a shot from Raptors’ guard Kyle Lowry in the paint, sealing a 104-103 win for the Nets.
Pierce scored 10 points in the win, while Kevin Garnett also chipped in on defense during the game’s final possession by stripping the ball from Lowry before Pierce’s block. Garnett had his best game of the series Sunday afternoon, posting his first double-double of the postseason with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 27 minutes of action.
Before departing the Air Canada Centre after the game-winning play, Pierce relished the moment as he heard boos from the crowd.
