Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen haven’t spoken since Allen left the team two years ago, Allen tells the Florida Sun-Sentinel. Has Allen tried?
“No, no,” he tells the paper.
Allen signed with the Miami Heat before the 2012-13 season, leaving behind a Celtics team that took Miami to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. At the Celtics’ Media Day that September, Garnett laid out his thoughts on Allen.
“I don’t have Ray’s number anymore,” Garnett said. “I’m not trying to communicate. I’m just being honest with everybody in here… It’s just what it is.”
Garnett famously gave Allen the cold shoulder when the Heat and Celtics faced off in Allen’s first game as an opponent that season.
Allen’s Heat lead Garnett’s Brooklyn Nets, 1-0, in the current best-of-seven playoff series between the teams.
