Contrary to popular belief inside of Interstate 495, the Celtics aren’t the only team in the hunt for Timberwolves superstar Kevin Love.
The Golden State Warriors will make a hard push to acquire Love, according to SFGate.com. One team executive outlined the team’s confidence for Love after Steve Kerr was introduced as head coach:
“You know we’ll be aggressive,” one Warriors source said, asking for anonymity because NBA brass isn’t allowed to comment on players under contract with other teams. “We usually get our guy.”
The Warriors believe their Bay Area location is an advantage to getting Love, according to the report. The team has better players to offer right now than the Celtics do, but the Warriors don’t want to part with guard Klay Thompson, according to the report. The Warriors don’t have a pick in this year’s draft and can’t offer their 2015 first-round pick until after June 26.
