Dario Saric, a sweet-shooting, 20-year-old Croatian point-forward, has yet to make up his mind on coming out for June’s NBA Draft. If the Adriatic League MVP does come out in 2014, however, he wants to be picked by the Celtics or Lakers.
Dario Saric, I’m told, has let it be known he plans to go to NBA next season if drafted by Celtics or Lakers.

Saric has been compared to Dirk Nowitzki, but the Celtics already have Kelly Olynyk, so they’re all set there.* He was projected as a lottery pick last season before pulling out, and he could be in line for a big-money deal in Europe if he sticks around. The 6-foot-10-inch tweener averaged 16.3 points and 9.5 rebounds for Cibona Zagreb (Croatia) last season.
The Celtics need big men. They also need offense. Saric is an intriguing case, a guy with huge upside who isn’t without risk. This Draft Express profile will tell you much more about Saric than I can. He’s currently slotted 9th in their mock draft, so he’d be ripe for the picking if the Celtics wanted to.
