Ron Adams, who brought a veteran presence to Brad Stevens’s staff in his first year as an NBA head coach, is leaving Boston to take a similar job with the Golden State Warriors. The 66-year-old Adams had two years remaining on his contract with the Celtics and told the Globe that leaving was a “difficult decision.”
Stevens released a statement on Adams’s departure Sunday night.
“I am very happy for Ron for him to have this opportunity to coach in his home state,” said Stevens. “We all wish Ron nothing but the best, and appreciate all that he did during his year in Boston.”
Adams is from California and attended Fresno Pacific University.
