ORLANDO — Detroit guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope missed a game-tying shot as time expired, helping the Celtics escape with a 92-90 win over the Pistons in Summer League action.
Kelly Olynyk paced a balanced offense with a team-high 16 points, as six Celtics scored in double figures.
Boston led by as many as 14 in the fourth quarter before a late charge by the Pistons closed to the gap to two in the game’s closing seconds.
Caldwell-Pope had a game-high 26 points in the setback.
Boston improved to 2-1 in Orlando Summer League action. They play next tomorrow at 5 p.m. against the Orlando Magic.
