The NBA preseason isn’t exactly known for its high intensity level, but don’t bother telling that to former Celtic Paul Pierce.
The future Hall-of-Famer suited up for his first game as a member of the Washington Wizard Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. Things started innocently enough between the two teams over the first few minutes of the contest, that is until Pierce fouled Jimmy Butler to stop a fast break.
Bulls center Joakim Noah took issue with Pierce’s foul. The long-time rivals exchanged words by the Bulls bench before things got a little chippy between the two sides.
Yes, that was former Celtics assistant head coach Tom Thibodeau in the middle of the fray to break up the action
Pierce was signed this summer to provide add additional intensity and veteran leadership to a talented young Wizards squad. One game into his career with Washington, it appears he’s filling that role quite nicely.
