Celtics Unveil Their New Uniforms, and Damn, What Were They Thinking?

Emily Austen/Boston Celtics

The Celtics announced that they’d be making a big announcement on Thursday evening but it wasn’t about a trade or a signing or even a number retirement.

It was about fashion. And it involves sleeves.

In partnership with Adidas, the team unveiled the new, “Parquet Pride Collection,” gray uniforms with white lettering and numbering, green trim and, yes, sleeves. See for yourself but be warned. There are sleeves.

These new duds, referred to as the “Home Alternate Parquet Pride Uniforms,” will be worn for six games, the first one coming on Nov. 28 when the Chicago Bulls visit TD Garden for a day-after-Thanksgiving matinee. It’s OK if you need a bucket.

Of course, if the Celtics really wanted to wear “parquet” looking jerseys, they could go something like this. No sleeves even!
