With a crowded depth chart in place and promising young players spending time on the bench, it appears Danny Ainge is getting aggressive on the trade front.

We first heard on Thursday morning that the Memphis Grizzlies were interested in acquiring Celtics leading scorer Jeff Green. Now, according to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, those trade discussions are progressing.

Additional reporters around the NBA have confirmed Stein’s report, including Chris Herrington of the Memphis Commercial Appeal and Grantland’s Zach Lowe

Any likely return for Green would include future draft considerations and matching salary filler (likely Tayshaun Prince) for Green’s $9.4 million contract.

Green is averaging 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 33 contests this season.
