Three years ago, then-Celtic Kevin Garnett compared a comeback win over Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic to a bar fight.
On Monday night, he took that metaphor a little more literally during a Nets-Rockets matchup at the Barclays Center. With 7:53 remaining in the first quarter, Garnett was called for a loose ball foul as he battled for position for Howard. After the call, Garnett and Howard traded shoves, before Garnett escalated things by chucking a basketball at the Rockets center and delivering a headbutt.
After a video review, Howard given a technical foul and Garnett was ejected. Given his instigating behavior, the 38-year-old Garnett is likely to be handed a suspension from the league.
