Location, location, location

In a two-run, two-walk, 24-pitch first inning, Josh Beckett had trouble locating his fastball, which featured its normal velocity. After No. 7 hitter Howie Kendrick popped up to first to end the inning, Beckett walked over to umpire Jim Reynolds for a few words.

Beckett, however, overpowered bad-ball clubber Vladimir Guerrero, who went down swinging at three straight fastballs (high, inside, high).
