There hasn’t been an official announcement, but it appears that Bill Haselman, the former Sox catcher who last season served as the team’s first-base coach, will be leaving the organization. The Sox, as Nick Cafardo reported last Sunday, had tried to interest Haselman in becoming manager of the short-season A Lowell Spinners, but he turned that down, citing family considerations. He will not be returning to the big-league staff, either, meaning the Sox will be in the market for a first-base coach. One possibility could be Ron Johnson, the Pawtucket manager.
