That’s pitches, not miles per hour.
Schilling threw 98 pitches in a Triple A start at the minor league complex in Fort Myers. While some of his teammates took off for Fort Lauderdale and the Orioles, Schilling got the Reds minor leaguers. He ended up pitching six innings, giving up four hits, one run (on a home run), and six strikeouts.
He was pretty happy with the progress on his changeup, through expressed disappointment with his fastball command.
