Curt’s night

Things had been going pretty well for Curt Schilling tonight. He had a bit of a hiccup there in the fifth inning, walking No. 9 hitter Paul Bako, after getting him to 0-2, and throwing six straight balls that left Brian Roberts 2-0.

But John Farrell paid a visit to the mound, and Schilling took care of Roberts on a swinging strikeout (only his second of the night) to end the inning. He hasn’t thrown a ton of pitches, helped by some aggressive swings from the Orioles.

Of course, that all changed with the hanging breaking ball he just handed to Miguel Tejada, who hit it 350 feet to left field for his first home run since opening night. It was only the Orioles’ third hit of the night.
