Looks like the outfield negotiations went well.
After Jeff Bailey took the first pitch he saw in the seventh inning into the seats in left field (followed shortly by another solo homer into the bullpen in left by Julio Lugo), a contingent of relievers seems to have conspired to retrieve the ball for Bailey. It was his first career home run and his first career hit.
It appeared that a ball was flipped from the stands into the bullpen after talks between about three people in the bullpen and people in the stands.
It’s now 6-4, Tigers.
