Papi gives Sox lead

David Ortiz, who was in quite a chipper mood in the clubhouse today, dancing what might be described a jig while wearing a towel, just launched his 26th home run of the season on a line drive to right. Ortiz took a 1-1 fastball from Radhames Liz (making his second career start) deep to give the Sox a 1-0 lead — the first time they have led a game since the Chicago series. Ortiz has found his homer stroke of late, and now has seven round-trippers in 14 games.

Mike Lowell was thrown out trying to turn a single into a double to end the first, it’s 1-0 Sox after one.
