Gagne ready for Monday

BALTIMORE – Eric Gagne threw 40 pitches in a side session today and after taking tomorrow off, he is expected to be available to pitch for the Sox Monday at Fenway.

Gagne had not worked since Aug. 26 against the Chicago White Sox after experiencing soreness in his right shoulder. He’s been strengthening the shoulder since. There was a period of time when Gagne was working on technical issues, such as tipping his pitches, and might have done too much work in his side sessions, which made his shoulder sore and tired.
