Grand slam, Jays

I’m going to guess that Russ Adams isn’t going to be getting any fan mail from Red Sox Nation.

After beating Eric Gagne last night, Adams just hit the first grand slam of his career off Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon. Papelbon had gotten the first out of the inning, getting Adam Lind swinging at a splitter, then pitched to Adams. He got down 3-0 to the third baseman before a called strike and a foul back brought Adams to 3-2.

That was when Adams hit it out, to right field. It made the score 6-1, Jays.

With just the ninth inning left…
