TAMPA – Well, almost predictably when a pitcher gets roughed up as much as Bartolo Colon did in today’s game against the Yankees (it’s 8-4 Yanks in the fifth), his comments are usually contrary to what everybody else thinks.
“I felt stronger this time (than in his first outing), but my control was not as good,” Colon said.
Colon walked three, and allowed four runs and three hits in two-thirds of an inning. He didn’t get out of the first. The big thing for Colon is that his shoulder is not hurting. Colon said he wanted to thank the Sox medical staff for the work they’ve done in keeping him pain-free.
Although his performance today was painful to watch.
