Lester pitches no-hitter against Royals

With the Fenway Park faithful all on their feet, Jon Lester struck out Kansas City’s Alberto Callaspo to seal his first career no-hitter. It was the ninth strikeout of the night for the young lefthander.

He became the first Red Sox pitcher to throw a no-hitter since Clay Buchholz last Sept. 1 and the first Boston southpaw since Mel Parnell in July of 1956.
