NEW YORK – Looks like it’s the county fair for Mike Mussina.
The Yankees’ 11-game winner did not make the AL All-Star team announced Sunday. He said Saturday after beating the Red Sox, 2-1, that he would either be taking his kids to the game or to the county fair. The five-time All-Star hadn’t made the team since 1999, but after Saturday’s performance there was a chance.
According to a league official, most of the team was picked last night but there were a couple of spots that were under discussion at the last minute. Might be that Mussina was one of them.
