Bay looks at home in left field

Red Sox newcomer Jason Bay said he expects it to take some time before he adjusts to the uniqueness of Fenway Park’s left field dimensions. However, against the Oakland A’s in his debut, he looked as if he belonged there. In the top of the fifth, he cleanly played a Bobby Crosby hit off the Green Monster that was a double. Then, with Crosby on third and 90 feet away from tying the game, he made a sliding catch on A’s right fielder Ryan Sweeney to save a run and end the inning, drawing appreciative applause from the crowd.
