With one out and two on in the top of the seventh inning, Red Sox manager Terry Francona has lifted starting pitcher Tim Wakefield in favor of reliever Manny Delcarmen. Delcarmen retired the two batters he faced, ending the inning with the Sox still up, 1-0.
