David Ortiz acknowledged last night that he’s already feeling the effect of not having Manny Ramirez to protect him in the lineup (he’s 1 for 15 since the Ramirez trade), but that might not be the only reason to worry about Big Papi.
Ortiz told the Boston Herald last night that, in his ninth-inning at bat, he felt a “click” in his left wrist, which was injured (but not surgically repaired, as was erroneously reported in this space earlier today) at the end of May (partially torn sheath).
“My last at-bat, it kind of pulled back a little bit,” Ortiz said. “You feel that click and you get a little concerned about it.”
A cause for concern, or no big deal? Stay tuned …
