Some cushion

Jed Lowrie hasn’t had a multi-hit game since Aug. 12, but he’s got three walks tonight and the last one forced in Dustin Pedroia to give Boston a 7-4 lead, and a little more room to breathe going into the ninth.

It was also Lowrie’s double that plated Jason Bay and got things started in a four-run sixth inning.

To the top of the ninth with Jonathan Papelbon on the way in, “Wild Thing” thumping through the speakers.
