Scioscia announces rotation and roster

ANAHIEM – John Lackey, Ervin Santana and Joe Saunders will pitch the first three games of the AL Division Series in that order starting Wednesday, Angels manager Mike Scioscia announced after Sunday’s 7-0 win over the Texas Rangers.

The Angels finished the season with their 100th win behind an encouraging performance by lefthander Joe Saunders, who went six innings and allowed two hits.

Scisocia said he elected to go with 10 pitchers and 15 positional players for the first round against the Sox. The most notable player left off was veteran reliever Justin Speier. He was left off in favor of rookie Kevin Jepsen, the hard-throwing former USA Olympian.
