Tuesday’s recap

FORT MYERS, Fla. — In the latest edition of Truck Day, the Red Sox packed up just about all their belongings and made the two-and-a-half mile trek up Edison Ave. as spring training shifts from the team’s player development complex to City of Palms Park.

That can mean only one thing: It’s time for spring games to start and, indeed, the Sox launch into live competition tomorrow with a doubleheader against Boston College (1:05 p.m.) and the Minnesota Twins (7:05 p.m.)

The Globe’s Amalie Benjamin brings you all the details in today’s video recap.

Here’s everything else we packed into a box marked with the words, “Tuesday’s happenings.”

  • Trophy? Check. — Manager Terry Francona spoke of the “challenge” the Sox will face going from daily workouts to defending their Mayor’s Cup championship against the crosstown rival Twins.
  • Get your lineups! — The Sox also released their anticipated starting lineup and divulged what pitchers will be used in games against BC and Minnesota.
  • Back Bay — The Globe’s Tony Massarotti writes that the Red Sox should strongly consider locking Jason Bay up long term this spring.
  • Mazz Q&A — Massarotti also answered all of your Red Sox questions from Fort Myers.

And we’ll wrap up Tuesday by giving you a glimpse of Wednesday. The Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy pens a piece on Mike Lowell for tomorrow’s editions and, in the video below, gives you the inside scoop on Lowell, who celebrated his 35th birthday today.
