FORT MYERS, Fla. — For the first time this spring, the Sox have provided some real news this morning. That includes Brad Penny being pushed back from his scheduled start on Thursday, J.D. Drew’s trip to Boston for an injection in his lower back, and Julio Lugo being scratched from today’s lineup.

Lugo was supposed to bat second and play shortstop, but was replaced this morning with Jed Lowrie. Manager Terry Francona said Lugo would spend the morning getting fluids after getting what the team hoped was food poisoning last night (as opposed to flu-like symptoms, that is).
