Manny deal subject to physical

Dodgers’ owner Frank McCourt just confirmed the team has struck a two-year deal with left-fielder Manny Ramirez, but subject to Ramirez passing a physical this afternoon in Los Angeles.

The sometimes nasty negotiations culminated in Ramirez receiving $45 million over two years, but it was not yet known whether the second year is an option or a straight guaranteed deal.

The Dodgers have been negotiating with Ramirez since November. At the baseball winter meetings in December in Las Vegas, McCourt offered Ramirez a 2-year, $45 million deal.
