Four-run O’s surge in the fifth

Josh Beckett found himself in trouble in a hurry in the top of the fifth. Cesar Izturis legged out a bunt single, Brian Roberts doubled to left. Then, missed with three straight pitches to Adam Jones after going ahead in the count 1-2.

He did the same thing with the bases loaded for Nick Markakis-strike, ball, strike, ball, ball, ball—walking in the Orioles first run of the game. Aubrey Huff then took Beckett to left center, that would have scored two regardless, but Nick Green bobbled the relay and allowed Markakis to race to the plate as well, making the score 6-4.

Beckett got out of the inning by getting Ty Wigginton to line out, Luke Scott two bounce a ball back to the mound, and the getting Gregg Zaun to fly out to right.

The commotion, however, got Javier Lopez warming up in the bullpen. The Orioles already relieved Adam Eaton of his duties, sending him in after throwing four innings and giving up six runs on nine hits.
