No more no-no

Curtis Granderson just broke up Josh Beckett’s no-hitter, ripping a two-out, 2-1 pitch to right for a clean single.

The Sox lead, 4-0 through seven innings.

In the Tigers’ seventh:
Placido Polanco flew to left.

Magglio Ordonez, struggling all year, walked on a 3-2 pitch. Beckett had been ahead of Ordonez, 1-2.

Miguel Cabrera, the third-leading hitter in baseball, fell behind, 0-2, then flied to center.
Then Granderson ripped his single.

With two aboard and two out, Jeff Larish struck out swinging.

The last two no-hitters, home and away, against the Tigers at home: Nolan Ryan 1973;
away: Randy Johnson 1990
