Tigers jump ahead; Cabrera leaves game

The Tigers lead, 3-0 after two.

Willis is looking like his old National League Rookie of the Year self thus far. He walked Mike Lowell in the second, but got Rocco Baldelli on a double-play grounder and has faced the minimum six batters through two hitless innings.

In the bottom of the second, Miguel Cabrera and Curtis Granderson started the inning with back-to-back singles to right off Wakefield. Cabrera limped into second on Granderson’s hit and a trainer came out to talk with him.

Brandon Inge doubled to left, scoring Cabrera and Granderson. Cabrera looked bad running home and he was replaced by Jeff Larish at first base after the inning.

Inge moved to third in a ground-out and scored on a grounder to short by Adam Everett.

So the Sox are in a hole. Going back to last night, the Tigers have outscored the Sox, 8-0, over the last four innings.
