The Sox appear to have dodged another bullet on the injury front. Additional tests on Alex Gonzalez this morning revealed no fracture, a baseball source told the Globe’s Tony Massarotti.
Just a week after the Sox and Jon Lester got through a batted ball to the pitcher’s knee, there appears to be nothing more than a bruise on Gonzalez’s right wrist. The shortstop was hit by a pitch thrown by Kerry Wood in last night’s game, and immediately left to go get preliminary X-rays. Those X-rays revealed a line, which was checked out again today with good news for the team.
