NEW YORK – Twins manager Ron Gardenhire announced Carl Pavano to pitch Game 3 in Minnesota on Sunday. Pavano, a former Yankee and Red Sox farmhand, was skipped here in New York. Whether that was done because of the bad experience Pavano had here in New York is unknown. Nick Blackburn gets the nod tomorrow night for the Twins, 7-2 losers to the Yankees last night in Game 1.
Gardenhire also said speedy outfielder Carlos Gomez might find his way into the lineup to give the Twins some spark. Gomez is the fastest Twin and Gardenhire wants to run to put pressure on the Yankee pitching staff.
