NLCS Game 4: Phillies 5, Dodgers 4

UPDATE, 12:40 a.m.: Nope, so much for that. The Phillies scored twice in the ninth to win it. Jimmy Rollins, with one RBI in the entire postseason, hit a 99-mph Jonathan Broxton fastball to the gap in right for a two-run, two-out double.

UPDATE, 10:33 p.m.: Is today the day the West Coast teams answer back? The Dodgers lead 4-3 as the bottom of the seventh gets underway. Homg-Chih Kuo trying to get the ball to Sherrill and Broxton for the Dodgers.

The Philly fans have been letting Manny have it the last few days. When Major League Baseball’s steroids commercial played on the scoreboard, they chanted “Manny, Manny.”

UPDATE, 9:59 p.m.: The Dodgers lead 4-2, having scored three runs on six hits in the last three innings. Randy Wolf has put only one runner on base since Howard’s homer.

UPDATE, 9:05 p.m.: Shocking turn of events here in Philadelphia as Yankees manager Joe Girardi emerges from the dugout to make an unnecessary pitching change for the Phillies.

UPDATE, 8:58 p.m.: Joe Blanton perfect through three here in Philly, only 32 pitches. The Dodgers haven’t scored in 12 consecutive innings

UPDATE, 8:28 p.m.: Ryan Howard just clubbed a two-run homer off Randy Wolf. He has at least one RBI in eight straight postseason games, tying Lou Gehrig’s record. It has been a rough year for the Iron Horse. First Jeter and now Howard.
