ALCS Game 6 postponed by rain

Game 6 of the ALCS was postponed by rain and will be played on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. Game 7, if needed, would be Monday at 7:57 p.m.

The Yankees will stick with Andy Pettitte and the Angels with Joe Saunders. The one thing the rain does is enable the Angels to use John Lackey on three days’ rest if they get to a seventh game.

The rain also adds a little extra meaning to Game 6 for the Yankees. If they need to pitch CC Sabathia in Game 7, he would not be available in the World Series (if they get there) until Game 3 at the earliest.

The Phillies, kicking back after winning the NLCS, must be loving this. They have Cliff Lee rested and ready for Wednesday and will come back with Cole Hamels or Pedro Martinez in Game 2.

MLB called the game two hours before first pitch. That was a smart move as it is pouring here now.

Catch you tomorrow.
