Early sparks in Game 4

Game 4 of the World Series could be a feisty one.

The Yankees went to work quickly on Joe Blanton as Derek Jeter reached on an infield single, Johnny Damon doubled and Mark Teixeira drove in a run with a grounder to first base.

The next hitter was Alex Rodriguez and Blanton hit him with a fastball on the first pitch. It was the third time in four games that Rodriguez has been hit in the series.

Rodriguez stood at the plate staring into his dugout as every Yankee went to the stop step. After a slow walk to first base, the umpires met and a warning was issued to both teams. That took away CC Sabathia’s ability drill one of the Phillies in retaliation.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi protested that. Yankees lead 2-1 in the bottom of the first. There would be some fireworks before this game is through.
