Recent Red Sox acquisitions Adrian Beltre and Bill Hall are in Boston today having physicals. It’s expected one or both will be introduced at a press conference either later today or tomorrow.
The veteran Hall, who arrived in Boston late yesterday, was acquired from Seattle along with a minor league prospect to be named later and cash, for first baseman Casey Kotchman. He’ll serve as Boston’s super utility player. Beltre signed a creative deal for one year at $9 million that contains an option year for $5 million and a $1 million buyout.
According to his agents, Gregg Clifton and Terry Bross, Hall is thrilled to be coming to the Red Sox where he hopes to get significant playing time and resurrect his career. Hall is said to be in great shape and working out at API where he’s undergoing two-a-day drills and is on a strict diet.
