Red Sox trade Van Every back to Pirates

According to MLB.com, The Red Sox have traded outfielder Jonathan Van Every back to the Pirates, getting Single-A catcher Josue Peley in return.

Van Every played in 21 games for the Red Sox after being acquired from Pittsburgh on April. 24. He was 4 of 19 (.211) at the plate. The Sox designated him for assignment on May 22 when Jacoby Elllsbury came off the disabled list for a few days.

Peley, 22, is a .202 hitter with one home run in parts of four seasons with the Pirates. He has, however, thrown out 47 of 111 base-stealers the last two seasons.
