Pitching: RHP Colby Lewis (8-5, 3.33).

Game time: 7:10 p.m.

State of the Sox: The Local Nine have dropped six of their last eight. Turns out that Dustin Pedroia, Victor Martinez, Clay Buchholz and Josh Beckett are pretty good. They start the day 5.5 games out of first and 3.5 games out of the wild card.

Don’t panic: The Sox were 6.5 games on May 29. By June 18 they were one game out. There are 72 games left to play, not seven.

Still hitting: Boston has hit 27 homers over its last 17 games.

Mr. Versatility: Bill Hall has started games at left field (19), center field (6), right field (4), second base (14), shortstop (3) and third base (1). He also pitched in a game.

Cam’s the man: Mike Cameron is 13 of his last 45 (.289) with three homers and nine RBI. Little by little you can see him making strides from his injury and become a bigger contributor on offense.

On the iPod right now: Actually, nothing. I left it in the car. It happens.

Check back for more later.
