First base coach Ron Johnson will be on the lines as usual tonight. But he was taken to a local hospital before the game because he had a sharp pain in his calf muscle and the trainers wanted to make sure it wasn’t a blood clot.
It wasn’t and he’s OK. Johnson was back at Safeco before batting practice.
Before RJ came back, Dustin Pedroia was campaigning to coach first. But Terry Francona turned him down.
