The Red Sox and Yankees are in the middle of a stretch that will see the old rivals play nine consecutive games at Yankee Stadium.
The teams played two games here May 17-18, four over the weekend, and have three more scheduled Sept. 24-26.
According to research done by the Elias Sports Bureau, that hasn’t happened since 1944 when the nine met nine straight times from July 3-Aug. 14.
It has been an odd schedule for the teams this season. The Sox hosted the Yankees for three games to start the season and that’s how the season will close, too.
The question is whether those three games in October will be be important or not.
